Wednesday's Ruck & Maul

Wednesday's Ruck & Maul

Today we launch yet another Comms tool – The Chronicle.  It is the brainchild of our industrious, Bronwyn Zodichi.  It will be released at the end or the beginning of each month, detailing events that happened and will be happening, around Ceedub.  In this communication age, it is difficult to stay on top with all those involved being volunteers, yet our communities want to know what’s happening?

Bronwyn joined CW from Port Alberni RFC three years ago.  The Black Sheep did not have a women’s team, so Bron used to make the trek to play with Nanaimo. Now, that’s a rugby enthusiast!  Since arriving at CW, she has rolled up her sleeves with great gusto.  On the field, she is a respected member of the Premier women’s FRF, she is the Senior Women’s rep on the Board, she coaches the U14 girls, and that’s just her rugby side!  Bronwyn is studying Athletics and Exercise Therapy at uni, and she works part-time.  What a great example this young lady is.  Of late, she has been dabbling with game reports and now, has come up with this idea.  ‘onya, Bronwyn.

CW is so lucky to have people of this caliber in the nest.  Thank you, Bronwyn.

FURTHER GOOD NEWS….

Matters with RC senior programs have not exactly been stellar since the women’s results at RWC.  Today we are rejoicing with the results that our NSWT U21 had on their recent three-game tour of the UK.  CW Age Grade ‘grads’, now playing at UBC, Adia Pye and Jesse Knaggs were important cogs on tour.  Adia notched four tries.  The results are truly impressive.

Game #1 Vs Ireland, 48 – 24 CAN            Game #2 Vs British Army, 58 – 10 CAN

Game # 3 Vs England, 59 – 21 CAN

The match against England was most impressive as it was played “under wraps” as England prepares for their upcoming ‘Junior’ Six Nations U21 campaign.  Well done, Canada.
