WELCOME BACK TO WINDSOR
Saturday, September 6th and Sunday September 7th – Welcome to Windsor Weekend
ALL CW teams, representing some 500+ active members, will have some involvement in this weekend. Senior teams will play scrimmages on Saturday the 6th vs James Bay, at 1 pm and 2:30 pm on the main field. There will be no admission fee, there will be a bar (by donation), comedown and check out our pre-season teams! Minis will play touch at 11 am on Saturday, and there will be a “touch game” for any registered player at noon. On Sunday, the junior boys and girls will have a training camp, running all day! Stop by Windsor Park and check-out the pre-season action!
WOMEN’S RUGBY WORLD CUP
Canada continued their winning way last weekend in Manchester, beating Wales convincingly. CW Junior’s product, Sophie de Goede was outstanding being adjudged as the Player-of-the-Match. CW has been favourably mentioned on many occasions by the commentators, and we thank the players for recognising their connection with our club. The Magnificent Seven are Sophie de Goede, Caroline Crossley, Julia Schell, Gabby Senft, Karen Paquin, Olivia de Marchant and Olivia Apps.
Make sure you record Canada’s upcoming game against Scotland, overnight on TSN, this Saturday. The winner will earn top seeding in the Pool and a likely Quarter Final meeting with the U.S. CW has a good contingent of family and friends amongst a vocal group of Canadian fans. Our best wishes go out to the team.
A SHORT WATCH, AND TRIBUTE.

To CW’s Fergus Jessop, we say, good ‘onya. Fergus was a member of the BC U 17 team that played three games in Ontario recently and came away winning 2/3. One for the future.
Bengaluru Bravehearts
We have not brought any results forward for our readers however the inaugural India Rugby Championship season has ended and the Bengies lost out in the third/fourth place game. CW protégé, Liam Poulton started in all twelve matches and finished with five tries after a speedy start. By all accounts, Liam’s Bengies had a good season, finishing high in all the stats. The Bengies played eventual winners, Hyderabad Heroes, to a close 17 – 12 score. ‘onya, Liam!
