Wednesday's Ruck & Maul

CW Women face UBC women in two games and Meralomas RFC in one game at Windsor Park this coming Saturday.  The Premier men have a week of R & R and an introspective look at getting the wheels back on the track.  The 1st Div men play the Norsemen at UVic.  (More details of all games to follow.)

Today we draw players' and readers' attention to our Photo Gallery.  We have not posted photos since 2022, reason being we have not had anyone take on the important role of club photographer for our men's and women's matches. Local sports photographer, Norm LeBus provided us wiith a number of photos from the Capilano match, so we have refreshed the Gallery. We would like to mention Wendy Norman who took over the job from the late, Ron Williams, our original enthusiast.  At the same time, we would also like to once again, appeal to any interested amateur to step to the plate.

FOOTNOTE - The women's opponent for this week, UBC, brings recall of the fabulous effort of Julia Schell in the 2022 Championship game.  Julia was on the horizon at that stage and has since risen to the top.  Her efforts against England were recently highlighted on this site and we bring readers a reminder of an interview with Julia back in 2022.

Final mention today is a reminder about the Minis Carwash and Bottle Drive, taking place this Saturday 10:00 - 4:00 at Monterey Middle School.
