MONUMENTAL Vs France! Off To The Semis.

This reporter missed the opening French score but at the midpoint of Stanza #1, Canada was harshly done by when a Phil Mack touchdown ( potentially tying score), was disallowed and deemed "subjectively" (and incorrectly), forward.  Canada, verbally disagreed - penalty - lineout - French tally, 14 - 0.  Braid managed to respond with a 50m scamper, following yet another quality, Dala feed.  Mere seconds left....a Mack grubber for a flying Dala went "dead" by about a meter.  Half, 14 - 5, France.

Two minutes in Stanza #2, Masterful Mack (playmaker extraordinaire), set up Braid who crossed wide out for his brace, 10 - 14.  Canada started to own the play with their "attacking tackling".  Following another Mack thrust, Dala had work to do after his spinarama but managed to lunge for the line, 17 - 10, Canada!  Minutes left and France had not escaped their own half......1.5 minutes left, tense moments, France attacking but Canadian commitment to desparate defence won the moment.

It has been fourteen years since Canada has played in a Cup semi.  What a feat!  The team has been blessed with seemingly, no major injuries, although we have the "oil" that some minor ones are being disguised by pride, desire and commitment.  A HUGE joy for those supporters present and we, on the Home front also feel very much part of the team's achievements.  The True North now fronts up against The Blix in the semi tomorrow.  No matter the outcome, the boys will be giving it their best shot.....'onyouse guys.  GAME TIME: 11:54 a.m.

Congratulations to UBC who won the Intercollegiate Division, 17 - 14 over UVic.  B.C.'s Mens U18's were nipped in the Final against U.S, High School All Stars, 14 - 19.  Pretty good results for B.C. athletes.
