MONDAY'S MUSINGS

WELCOME BACK TO WINDSOR

A RUGBY DAY - LET THE GAMES BEGIN

Saturday saw a host of activity at the House of Windsor.   It started with the Mighty Minis already registered for the season.  The player-coach ratio was significantly low, so good on the volunteers.  It was great to see the boys and girls having fun and getting exercise under watchful eyes and creative coaching.

The most significant part of the day was the ‘unveiling’ of the Brent johnston memorial plaque on the Bench of Honor. Men’s coach, Ken Goodland outlined to the players and parents present the significance of Johno’s contribution. Even though many of the throng did not know Brent, polite and respectful applause for his recognition and brother Gary’s presence, was forthcoming.

“Every Day is a Rugby Day” RIP, Johno

There was good rugby action that followed.  Some fifty registered CW women simply had too many numbers and too much game for the Bays. In the men’s action, the Blues probably ended with the upper hand although both teams displayed some good rugby with their early season form.

For CWRFC this was an exciting day.  It was the proclamation of a “Golden Opportunity”
