Even Tussle Expected

Tomorrow's matches should provide good entertainment as the two sides seek to solidify their playoff spots. In Premier action, the Vikes will field two backs who cut their teeth at Windsor Park - Gareth Sandner and Angus Boyd-Porter. Sandner seems to be Scott's go to starter at #10, whilst Gus who nailed CW last season, has been slotted in at #15. It will be interesting to watch the Gammage brothers do battle, CW's #9 Chris, and Vikes center, Alex. Both of these lads have considerable talent. Casey, in the forwards, also saw some time in a Tricolor jersey The Vikes will also field Jack Penaluna on the wing, a younger brother of former CW-er, Jason? The Vikes will be looking to show better after a hefty loss to the Pride last week.
CW will feature five UVic grads - Kratz and Fatt in the FRF, Gamage at half, Easson in the centers and Hager, back from Sevens duty, on the wing. The Vikes pack has mostly unknowns to this pundit whereas CW will field a tested and grizzled group. Dafydd Thomas after his blinder last week has been chosen to fill the #8 spot, big shoes to fill, indeed. Johnny Simpson will start at lock and Finnie will move to #6. The home team backs are the same combo as last week with the exception of Hager, so they will also be better for their last outing. Vikes were winners before Christmas in a very disappointing performance by CW under the lites. There will be some of this week's selection who were present then, seeking to atone. CW are growing into a much tougher proposition on home turf, something that is pleasing for The Faithful! The games (12:45 and 2:30), will be prefaced with Six Nations on the BIG screen at the Pavilion - doors open 8:00 a.m., breakfast provided for $5 or by donation and Chef Brandon flipping the eggs. Italy Vs Ireland; Wales Vs England. See you at the House.
