Caroline Crossley  - Youth Commonwealth Games; now Off to Oz

Caroline has been part of the CW family since U10 mini rugby. Joining CW as a mini after she excelled in mini school jamborees, and since then has had had a rapid rise in the game. She played for many BC representative teams (U16 Nationals, and BC U18 Vegas 7s). It was at the National U16 tournament in 2013 that she was noticed by the NSW7s coach, John Tait.   Upon his recommendation, she attended Canadian Sport School starting in Grade 10 and is now in her final year with the CSS.

Caroline has represented Canada at the U20 level in 2014 (at age 16) and in this past year, she has been carded and centralized as part of NSW7s program and has been part of their Maple Leaf development program.   In this last year, she has played for the Maple Leafs in Vegas 7s, Hong Kong and Amsterdam invitational tournaments.

 


Just this past September, she represented was part of the Canada 7s team at the U18 level at the Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa where she was the captain and led the team to a Silver medal performance. Carded for the coming year, she will have opportunities to compete in more invitational tournaments in Dubai (TBC), Vegas, Hong Kong and Amsterdam as she follows the elite pathway as part of the NSW7s centralized program.

Caroline has recently left for Australia, where she will be part of a 2 week  training camp with the Australian national 7s team and to compete with the NSW7s program in the Central Coast Sevens.
