Canada At The Gold Coast

The Maple Leafs landed in Brisbane yesterday in temperatures hovering around 30 deg., to play in the opening round of the Sevens Circuit.  The squad  includes a number of CW "connections" and will be captained by UVic's, Nate Hirayama. Senior members are; Ciaran Hearn, John Moonlight (nb. Cleve Dheenshaw!), Nanyak Dala, Connor Braid and Harry Jones.  Youngsters and speedsters that round out the group are Sean Ferguson, Lucas Hammond, Justin Douglas, Pat Kay, Pat Parfrey Jr. and Mike Fuailefau.

Action commences on Friday and we will keep you apprized of the scorelines.  Canada is in a Pool with Fiji, Wales and Portugal.  Even though there are two perennial contenders in this Pool, anything goes in the season opener.  CW wishes the boys and staff well.  Go, Canada, go!
