Around The League

The BCRU Premiership League gets underway this afternoon.  Let's start with CW.  The Tricolors travel to Klahanie to take on the Caps, always tough at home.  Caps had a tough game last week last week with a narrow two point loss to Burnaby.  CW is slowly mustering the troops.  There is a hint that this match will be very competitive with CW adding Big Unit, Aaron Flagg in the second row, the Jones Boys playing together in the pack, Armstrong returning to #9 and pairing with Buckley @ #10 and Kleeberger starting in the centers. Prediction - this one will come down to the team that makes their kicks.  CW 18 - CAPS 15

JBAA @ Burnaby.  James Bay is also mustering troops and stuck to their guns on defence last weekend against CW.  Burnaby will be a different test today.  They are a club that play on the edge and have great faith and belief in their game plan. They have developed into being one of the toughest clubs to beat on their own turf and will be gunning for revenge for their loss in the Final last season.  BLRC 42 - JBAA 17

Meralomas at UVic.  The Vikes with five CW youth grads in their lineup will have far too much fire power for the struggling Loma.  UVic play with pace and flair and will extend the customary larger forwards that Lomas bring to the fray. A 32 - 0 second half for the students.  VIKES 43 - 14.

Finally, UBCOB Raven @ Rowers.  This is an intriguing contest.  We read of The Raven bolstering their ranks and Rowers have made a commendable start in their promotion year.  This pundit will go for Old Boys but it will be close. Not so close, RAVENS 44 - 15.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN.
