A Plethora Of Points
Canada won the Bowl at the Commonwealth Games yesterday in Glasgow. South Africa upset N.Z. for the gold and Geriant John's Aussies took the bronze. There were nine "core" teams in this contest and unluckily for the boys, they finished ninth when they failed to qualify for championship play after day #1. Day # 2 saw a host of tries from a host of players and "minnows" such as Uganda, Trinidad & Tobago & Cook Islands go down to a total of 115 points for and seven against. Not sure what will be gleaned from this, apart from an obvious "miss" of Phil Mack and the fact that Rio will be great for the Sevens game! So, it is two year's time for Rio and fortunately, in the interim, Canada has kept its spot as a "core" team. The question that begs is; will this group of players maintain their high echelon of play at that time?
Now for the Women's RWC in Paris - bon chance, mesdames.
