CW ALL OVER!

Co-coach of Canada’s U18 Men, Scott with Jacko, Zack, Elvis, Josh and Max

Canada’s Maple Leaf Sevens completed the Punta Del Este Tournament yesterday in not too stellar fashion.  This development group went 1 – 5 over the two days, finishing in eighth place out of twelve teams.  CW had youngster, Jarvis Dahkewitz and former Premier player, Josiah Morra as members of the team with Josiah crossing for a couple of tallies.  Josiah had signed with MLR newcomers, Toronto Arrows but it appears he has reconsidered this path to hang his hat with the Sevens game.  These boys stay on the South American continent, moving onto Vina del Mar 7’s in Chile (winners of Punta 7’s), next weekend.  Best of luck to the group.

Finally in our musings, 2019 starts with a thousand “Thank You’s” to everyone who brought trees to be recycled and gave generously in support of our CW Rugby program. Further thanks to Bartlett Tree Experts who once again chipped all the trees without charge. This company has supported CW with tree chipping as well as jobs for players for many years. Please support them with your business if you have any work on your property or your job site. Let them know CW sent you!! Finally to the CW players and Exec who braved some wet and cold weather to collect trees and to say thanks on behalf of our great Rugby Club. Good luck to all players who will wear The Tricolor in 2019.

A reminder about two VERY important February events. The club will hold its Annual Fun(d)raising Dinner on Saturday, 23 and will be collecting the 50/50 at the Royals game on February 24 TICKETS )  for tickets.  We need to support both events strongly as this has been a very challenging year for fundraising and increased operational costs.
