Women's U18 Sevens Tryouts

Provincial team trials for the Under-18 women's sevens program are just around the corner. The tryouts are scheduled for December 7th in Duncan for all Vancouver Island players and on December 8th in Vancouver for all Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and Interior-based players.

With the excitement of rugby's involvement in the 2016 Rio Olympics, this program was developed by BC Rugby to provide our young female players a pathway to the Canadian national team. BC Rugby is embarking in a development structure that will ensure BC athletes will represent our country at future world championships and grace the Olympic podium.

Please note that players are required to pre-register with BC Rugby Girls Development Officer Marlene Donaldson ([email protected]). The cost for the trial will be $20.00 per player with cheques payable to 'BC Rugby.' Players are required to bring their own lunch and snacks.

The trials will be for high school girls ages U16-U18 (1996, '97 and '98 birth years). Sevens-rugby specific experience is not required and trials will be open to all athletes.
