Wholesale Changes for Tomorrow's Tussle.
Coach Crowley has made twelve starting alterations to the team that lost to Tonga, in preparation for the highest ranked P.N. opponent, Samoa. The teams will do battle at BMO Field, To., tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. (PST), televised live on TSN #5. This will be another test to see just who can do the job at this level.
The changes to the backs could be interesting but the forwards will need to win the ball for fruition. With that in mind, Gilmour with his recently added U.K. contract, enters the fray with the hope that there will be more agro in the loose. Other new starters are DJ Sears who appears to have added some bulk and energy since he sported the Tricolors two seasons ago. Other changes from last week in the pack are; Rayzor Barkwill, Woolridge and Olmstead from Parra which was one from the bottom of the Shute Shield Ladder in Sydney but this man has shown patches of form in action with the National squad. The backs have been macerated. It’s a welcome return for Phil Mack who will need to provide magic if the pack back-treadles and he is paired with Sevens mate, Nate Hirayama. Blevins has been brought into replace an injured Hearn. Pritch resumes the custodian’s spot and Phil Mackenzie and Evans round out the flanks.
Any prediction I make might be different to where I put my dough at Ladbroke’s but I do hope for all and sundry that a good show occurs. We have seen Canada perform well in the past when it was ‘backs to the wall’, so, go, you good things.
