Wednesday's Ruck & Maul
Our Monday Musings recorded the return of Senior Men’s rugby. On Sunday last, it was the time for our Age Grade coaches of our boy’s and girl’s teams to rejoice in their return to action.
Westshore RFC hosted and organised a day of Sevens competition for Youth from U14 – U19. 18 teams entered and although “winners” were recognised, host Westshore Club President, John Lyall insisted on the principles of safe play and fun take an equal place with the competition. ‘onya, John and Westshore RFC.
We have results of the various competitions and a few photos of the three Boy’s Age Grade teams. Boy’s Director, Byron reports the Match-of-the-Day; “Down 10-7 in the dying minutes. Marshall Stove recovered a loose ball deep in our end. He broke a tackle and grubbered the ball ahead. He ended up kicking 3 grubbers to finally recover and score for the win!” ‘onya, Marshall! The next competition for our youth will take place on October 10th when Bayside RFC visits to play the U15 Boys.
