Tricolors Visit Boatmen
Arguably, the “match of the day”, as some other interesting contests will be taking place in Vancouver however, BCRU has deemed it to be the feature video-ed game and this will be shown at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow evening. It can be viewed at; http://www.bcrugby.com/live/
Rowers are coming off a 2015 opening, 18 – 10 win over Ravens. The win gives VRC seventeen points, a lead, well clear of basement dwellers, Ravens and CW. Rowers have had two wins and two ties this season, including a defeat of CW, 25 – 17 at Windsor. The Rowers will field four designated “international” players and along with Seyler who has always been a thorn in CW’s side and the likes of clever playmaker, Racinos at #10, must be considered home field favorites.
CW have had a frustrating season to date – close games, yielding no competition points. Upcoming, is a brief window where the club can bolster its pack with some NSMT players. The experience of these men alongside players who have toiled faithfully could well be the catalyst to notch some wins. Hopefully many of our readers will be able to watch the boys at 7:00p.m. and we have a quiet confidence that it will be that they are road warriors and notch that first W.
The Ones managed a nice bonus point victory over Rowers, 32 – 21 in round #1 at Windsor and there is some definite cohesiveness developing with this group in recent weeks. Even though VRC have seventeen competition points to CW’s two, we would predict an extremely competitive and close match. CW will be led by lock, Nate Thomas, whose last game was against this same club, when he suffered a severe injury. Nate has been selected to Rugby Canada’s U20 team for upcoming “internationals”. Go, you good things!
Whilst with the U20’s – the team for the upcoming March contests was announced this week. Games will be played against Rumania at Shawnigan on March 10th @ 3:00 p.m. and at Westhills Stadium on March 14th @ 7:00 p.m., further matches will be against the U.S. at the end of March.
