Season Opens With Cup Action

This Saturday The Tricolors take to the pitch at Gordon Head against the Velox Club in the VIRU Barnard Cup opening game.  1ST DIV. kicks off at 1:00 p.m. and the Main Game is at @ 2:45 p.m.

It will be an interesting contest, possibly the last between these two teams played at Gordon Head as the rumour mill has the Double Blues moving to the Western Communities next season.  Although Velox has struggled since "relegation" two seasons ago, the battles between CW & VV have always been mammoth.

Under new leadership off the field with Founding Fathers, Mike Holmes and Mark Wyatt taking the reins, one can expect a resurgence of this one time BC Premier Champ, back to The Bigs in the not too distant future.  The Velox would like nothing more than to knock off a current Premier team.  CW,  notoriuosly slow out of the blocks, could be susceptible on Opening Day.

So, it will be a "really BIG shoe" at Gordon Head and we hope the faithful turn out in droves.
