On Sunday, May 19 th   at 3:00pm, “The Penny Farthing Pub” will play host to the unveiling of a special wall, that will honor the memory of two of the greatest rugby teams that have ever played the game-  The British Rugby Lions of 1971 and the British and Irish Rugby Lions of 1974.
 
To the delight of all rugby enthusiasts, it has now confirmed that we will be graced with the presence of a member of both those teams – Fergus Slattery of Blackrock RFC and Ireland, who will perform the unveiling.
 
As if frozen in time, extraordinary memorabilia has surfaced  that depicts not only some of the history of those great tours, but memorabilia that proudly depicts the true camaraderie and  global nature of rugby football.  We are proud to honour the past.
 
Mr. Slattery was inducted into the International Hall of Fame in 2007, and  is a very genuine International “Legend”.  Following the unveiling, Mr. Slattery will make himself available in a Question and Answer gathering in the Conference area at the rear of the Penny Farthing Pub.
 
All rugby enthusiasts are welcome, as we here in Victoria attempt to pay tribute not only to those men of the 1971 and 1974 teams, but also to pay tribute to a culture that is truly Global, and one that has embraced us all.
