Day #2 @ The Nats

Following Day #1's excellent results for BCRU age grade teams, Day #2, recorded some highlights and one major glitch, that being the Blue Ribbon game of the day at the U18 Men's level with BC #1 taking on Ontario.  The Ontario team is a sizeable and experienced unit and led all the way with a late converted try by B.C. closing the gap to 13 - 15.  B.C. is a well coached side and has plenty of talent, so the rematch in the Final, preventing further upset should be a cracker.  Speaking of upsets, the man pictured, CW's Jack Nyren is making an impression with the other B.C. team in this competition, the Men's U17 team which to this stage (half-time, Fri. vs Saskatchewan, 21-0), also remains undefeated.  These boys will have plenty to say about the #1's making the Final game.

The success of the girls' teams is somewhat as expected.  The Boy's U16 Gold team is undefeated in their Pool and the Blues are 2 and 1 after narrowly losing to Ontario #1.  Today, these teams play each other in "cross-over" action, so bragging rights are at stake.  In U14 action, both B.C. Gold and Blue remain undefeated.  No word as to CW boys are going in these teams but generally, good results, heart-warming feedback for those who toil at the club level with junior rugby.  'onya, B.C.
