Day #1 International Sevens

Posted in B.C. Rugby / CW Rugby / Game Reports / Girls Rugby / Juniors / News / Sevens

A classic day of high quality youth sevens under the best skies Victoria could offer, augering well for some epic playoffs tomorrow.  Highlight of the day was the BC Gold Vs. Utah match, where B.C. had to come from behind to nut out the visitors 26 -19, in a less than stellar match but it had the ingredients to keep the fans on the edge of their seats.  BC Gold and Ontario both went undefeated to head their pools, so expect some fireworks at the Stadium tomorrow!

Other results of note saw Nth Island and Sth Island U14's chalk up big wins over Fraser Valley teams. Sunday will see added action from girls and  boys U16 teams.  Games start at 9:20 a.m. with the Finals being played at Centennial Stadium from 3:00 p.m. onwards.  Great to see RC's senior men's coach, Geraint John out to check out the talent, a positive confirmation to our youth.  Fantastic parent support, great coaching and an amazing contribution from the men in purple, plying the whistle.  Again, Doug and Shane, you have hit the jackpot.
