CW's Spencer Robinson Announced BC Boys U15 Coach
Victoria's Spencer Robinson has been appointed Head Coach of the TrueBlue BC Rugby Under-15 boys provincial team for the upcoming summer season. A Level Three NCCP certified coach with experience at the high school, club, provincial and national levels, Robinson will be working alongside assistant coach Mike Jamieson.
"BC Rugby is delighted to have Spencer Robinson on board as Head Coach of the U15 boys program," said BC Provincial Coach and Development Manager Dave Brown. "Spencer's playing and coaching background will provide players with a great experience. He has worked previously with our senior women's provincial program and more recently with the Island Tide U14 rep teams at the BC Summer Games."
Coaching alongside Robinson will be Mike Jamieson who led the Fraser Valley U14 boys rep side to a 2012 BC Summer Games title in Surrey last July. Jamieson has coached at Elgin Park Secondary for three years and in 2013 saw the junior boys program go undefeated as Surrey and Fraser Valley champs. For the upcoming summer, Jamieson will also be the Fraser Valley West U15 PRCs head coach.
Both coaches feel that this is a vital age group in a rugby player's development and are excited by the opportunity and challenge they face in preparing these young athletes.
"This is another vital step down the road of any player's rugby education and Mike and I are happy to play a small part in that journey," Robinson said on behalf of himself and Jamieson.
