CW Women Senior Coach - Job Posting

Castaway Wanderers is seeking a Head coach for its Senior Women’s program for the upcoming 2021/22 season. The CW women’s program was established in the 2015/2016 season.

For the women’s program, we are looking to grow the program base and establish strong connections between the well-established and successful girl’s youth pathway (mini through to U19), local colleges and university programs, and to actively recruit experienced and new players to the program. Initial responsibilities will include the development and growth of the women’s program with the goal of re-establishing a two-team program (developmental side and competitive side).

This role will work directly with the Director of Rugby, the Junior Girls Director as well as the Mini’s Director to coordinate consistency throughout the female pathway within the club. The goals for this pathway will include developing a fun rugby environment, inclusive to all levels, that develops connections to the club highlighted through the long term retention of players from one level to the next.

Head Coach

This position is responsible for overall coaching direction and leadership with the senior women’s team. The Head Coach is expected to lead at least coaching 2 coaching sessions per week and lead the team in League participation for the 2021/22 season. This role will report  to the Director of Rugby for Castaway Wanderers. Honoraria will be considered for this position commensurate with experience of the successful candidate. CW Executive are asking for a 2-year commitment to the program.

The Head Coach should be able to:

• Create a fun, organized, and purposeful training environment that aligns with the overall vision of the club as developed by the Director of Rugby
• Demonstrate a strong aptitude for organizational and administrative tasks
• Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills
• Provide honest feedback to in a professional manner to ALL participants
• Share their vision for the program with potential players
