CW WOMEN OPEN THEIR ACTION

As rugby fever kicks off again, the Castaway Wanderers Women’s teams are set to embark on a thrilling journey as they continue into the 2024 season. Both the Premier and Division 2 women's teams are preparing hard for an action-packed encounter this Saturday.

The Premier Women will be against Westshore at Juan De Fuca Recreation Centre, with kick-off at 12:45pm, while the Division 2 Women are set to clash with James Bay AA at MacDonald Park at 10:45am.

The Premier women took the win the last time they faced off against Westshore, by a score of 31-26, while the Div 2 team lost 48 -7 when they last played James Bay. With the new year and new faces in their pockets, CW will be thinking positively and be looking to walk away with two W’s to start the season!

The anticipation is palpable, as recently, as many as fifty women have been actively participating in practices, adding an extra layer of excitement to the CW's 2024 season. The diverse age group and experience is a testament to the club's commitment to promoting rugby as a sport for all!  (Frankie Fraser reporting.)
