CW vs Rowers @ Brockton in Vancouver this Saturday, Feb. 15
It has been six seasons since Rowers and CW met at Brockton and the return match at Windsor. CW won both clashes with sides that included the start of a group which built up to win the Premiership in 2011. Rowers last won the Rounsefell in 1995. The last time these two teams met, Rowers had just been promoted to the CDI Championship and found the going difficult, only to drop back down.
Full credit to the old Rowing Club spirit as they have fought back to the Premiership level and are in the midst of a season that has caused their opposition problems, defeating Caps, Vikes and Lomas and sitting with a 3 – 3 record. CW lies 2-4 and was definitely struggling pre-Christmas. In the First Div., Rowers lead the Tricolors by a whopping eighteen league points.
Much water has passed under the bridge since we have seen O’Toole and Sinclair (pictured) in Tricolor uniforms and with this being an “away” game for CW, the odds must certainly favor the Home team. Every game is so critical for CW this “half” as demotion looms over the shoulder. The teams are very close in the offensive and defensive columns and so the battle should be very close.
