Ceedub Vs Vikes

Top of the table is up for grabs tomorrow at U.Vic’s Wallace Field.  The Div One sides battle at 1:00 with the Norseman leading the comp and CW boys showing some good early season form, the curtain-raiser promises to perhaps be a little closer than in previous years when the students have put The Ones to the sword.

The big game is at 2:45 and the Vikes and CW are tied with two wins apiece to date.  CW will have a couple of changes to the team that nailed JBAA last weekend however, with Fat Jonny returning to the fray to replace Fraser and Crossland showing good form combining with MacPherson, the battle of the “halves” should be interesting.  Vikes, Pitbaldo and Du Toit being an experienced handful.  After many years, it is good to see grads from CW juniors making the grade –Grdic, MacPherson, Morris, Fuli, Ngongo and McCloskey have all become experienced and skilled as their rugby careers have grown with Fuailefau being a real force.  They will be facing other CW guys – Bos, Erlic, Nishima-Miller and Hall with the Vikes and this is a testament to much work done over the past decade or so with the CW junior program. 

The Vikes are a very good combo again this season so this should be a fun and intriguing matchup with  Braddock and the boys out to prove they are to be reckoned with this season. It is to be hoped that any CW supporters left “in town”, heard Fraser was spotted at Milton Keys, will be at UVic to boost the Tricolors.
