Canada 7's In Quarters Again
This reporter is certainly coming across as far from the sharpest tack in the box for Sevens news! Apologies to Nate Hirayama...AFTER viewing our own utube clip, we note that not only is he playing, he is playing with his customary acumen and point-scoring importance. Enough on this point!
Day Two, saw more solid play from Canada with a win over Argentina, 14 - 7 (Hirayama - nine points and another tally from Mooner) and a more favorable points differential against pool opposition than England. Despite this, the lads lost 12 - 14, edging even closer than last outing, reportedly, having the better of possession and position everywhere, except on the score board. At least the result was not decided by a referee this time.
Day #3 will see Canada along with our rapidly improving neighbour to the south, in the Quarter Finals. Canada plays an undefeated Australia at 9:34 p.m. (PST). Australia arguably, have been in a "softer" pool, so this may well be their sternest test.
