Beardos Woo Crowd!

  The Annual CW Fun(d)raiser Dinner was another resoundng success.  The Organizing Committee and CW Exec. wishes to thank everyone in attendance, those who donated and those who successfully bid on a number of priceless items.  To those that missed it....see you next year.

Highlights of the evening included recognition of our twelve year sponsor, Mine Host, Matt McNeill and his wife, Wendy,  Matt has been a valued disciple of the CW message as well as being extremely philanthropic over this period of time.  Matt, it is with our deepest thanks. Patronise The Penny, The Bard and The Times for hearty fare and good ale.

Players, Adam Kleeberger and Hubert (The Moose) Buydens performed a humorous one-two duo, telling us about Canada's performance at the last RWC in N.Z.  These men, plus former CW-er, "Jab" Sinclair were part of what became known world-wide, as The Beardos, bringing some great focus on their Canadian team. Thinkin' about stand-up, guys?  Well done.  This act was followed by Rick Mercer's disarming Adam of his championship growth to raise funds for Movember ( attention to men's prostrate cancer)......at least, the video version.  Perhaps best of all, a CW coup, with Mercer on video wishing the club all the best for the night's festivities and successful fund-raising, with a reminder to raise a glass for him!

In conclusion, good fun, good friends and support for our ever-growing programs involving girls and boys from eight to thirty eight!!
