Barnburner At MacDonald?
A veritable Who's Who around Rugby Canada appears to be suiting up for what could be an epic contest tomorrow at MacDonald Park when CW comes up against James Bay for the third time this season, the previous two encounters, with the exception of one half, both being forgettable occasions for CW.
CW snuck a W on the road last week against Rowers, with The Maestro stroking a penalty on the last play of the game. It is interesting to see the return of Ander, whether or not he has a backstage idea of a RWC repeat...who knows but even short of a trot, he is a premier #10. Strangely enough, on paper, CW looks slightly stronger than James Bay in the forwards, although their record of five mauled tries last weekend will still be fresh in their mind. Interesting to see Jon Phelan indicating his strong desire for further Rep honors by being at Langford and tossing his hat with the Tricolors. He will partner Hubie in the locks' engine room. Captain Tieds will lead from #2, between Jake Ilnicki and Kiwi Braddock. Kehoe will anchor the pack, with Big Bro, Riley on one side and Dingwall on the other. In all, a formidable combo.
Youngster, MacPherson who has been knocking on the door, will fill for the injured Armstrong and if he can provide quality service to Monro, he has the centre pairing of Bucks and Ciaran Hearn to feed. The Bays have announced a quality three line. Blevins has joined their ranks and played well last week, as did the speedsters, Clayton Meeres and Wilson-Ross. Braid, who has excelled in his last two Sevens outings, will join Blevins and Pat Parfrey comes in on the wing. All of this is anchored by Whitey @ #15. Dalziel has been left til last, as he is consistently a craw in CW's throat and will need to bottled up, some how or another. So, there you have it sports fans......Miracle At The Mac.....who knows?
And just a note...you can catch J.D. back in action and K.G. at #10 with The Ones at 1:00 p.m., Curtainraiser. Go,CW.
