Another Quadruple-Header

ALUMNI WEEKEND
Dare I cast any outcomes? Play will start on Saturday on Field #2 at 11:15 a.m., when our 4 – 4 women’s Divvies will be in action against the 7 – 0 Comox Kickers. The Kickers, back in November, did just that to our ladies, winning by a wide margin. After being advised recently that, “We’ll surprise ya……don’t ever count us out”, I am not sure I dare offer an opinion on the result! No matter the outcome, this group of young players has come miles this season.
Divvies men will follow this opener at 12:15. CW (6 – 4) will get all they can handle from Comox (4 – 6). Akin to the men’s last outing vs JB, it will be close. I feel that with the support of the home crowd, the Divvies should notch another.
At 12:45 the women’s Premier match will take place on the main pitch. Abbotsford, in their inaugural season, are to be applauded. They are finding the Premier level to be a challenge, and they are winless at this stage. The nuances of travel might prove to be just too much. As CW look like they are hitting their straps, readying for playoffs, I must stay with them for the “W”.
Premier men take to the field at 2:30 p.m. It will be a battle of the cellar-dwellers. There is really no reliable form to aid an opinion with the outcome. There will be many Faithful present as Alumni Day should see former teammates recalling battles of yore. The “16TH” might carry the day. I leave it to the reader to make their own prediction. As for mine, CW for the “W”, in a close one.
Erratum. Last blog included Jack wallace going to Te Rapa in Hamilton. Jack is actually going to play for the Te Awamutu Sports Club.
