ADDENDUM - IN MEMORIAM - DERWEN PHILLIPS

Further to yesterday's Vale, an old FRF team mate of Derwen's spotted the post and dropped the editor a further note and photos, capturing the man in full regale and top form, which is deemed well worthy of posting!

"Derwen was passionate about rugby, a sport he considered a part of his Welsh birthright. A proud member of the Front Row Fraternity at tight head, he was well versed in the mysteries and dark arts that characterize it. He brought to mind those Welsh pit ponies: committed, fearless and intense, giving his all every match.

Afterwards, in the bright light of the post game bacchanal, he was a raconteur and balladeer, entertaining all with aplomb, (his rendition of "Funiculi, Funicula" possibly only rivaled by Pavarotti). I will fondly remember him as a great teammate and friend."
