Setting The Day's Table

The B.C. Boys U18 team won their match against North West Loggers this morning and play in the Final @ 11:00.  We bring the UTube footage below, to you, as an example of the calibre of play by B.C. U18 Women.  There is a tally in this clip that is worthy of any SM or SW's team.....enjoy.

Good luck to NSMT Vs Wales @ noon.

Yooooh!  This day looks like a "corker" for Canada.  Down 0 - 12 @ the half the boys scored three second half tallies and Connor Braid slotted a convert from the sideline for a 21 - 19, Canadian victory.  Speaking of Braid, it is more than fair to say, he has been a factor in the tourney so far for Canada.  Early "reaction time" by Canada was impressive although some tackles were missed, disappointing after a 100% tackle count in their losing effort to South Africa yesterday.  Wales have been a nemesis for Canada in Sevens, winning 21 of 29 contests but today got that monkey off the back.

With Canada on the attack early, the first try came against the run of things when, with two on the clock,  Wales exhibited some great support and one of those "missed tackles" occurred.  After restart, a promising Canuck thrust ended with a penalty against and a second Dragon's tally in "closing time".

Six season vet, Yak Dala, opened the second half from the restart with a strong run to cross near the sticks, 7 - 12.  Then the "TSN Turning Point" came when Wales took a yellow for obstruction.  Canada immediately responded when Moonlight won the lineout from the touchfinder and Mack read the overlap like a book, dummied and was in, under the sticks, 14 - 12.  With three left, great work from Canada to produce a turnover, ultimately seeing Mack, again, with a great read and wide "miss" to Douglas who crossed wide out and Braid's "magic moment" occurred.  Wales came back....a couple of HUGE tackles, one notable from Dala momentarily kept them at bay but their effort was finally rewarded, crossing near the posts, at "no side".  CANADA WINS WITH A GREAT TEAM EFFORT.  Mistakes, yes but outweighed by good stuff.  Cup Quarters - opponent tbd.
