GAME ON!

Late Breaking.
Not everything is cancelled. It has just come to our attention that there will be a Women's Premier match at the House of Windsor tomorrow, kickoff 12:45. The featured protagonists are CW and Westshore. Westshore sit second on the table with 15 points and CW lie in fourth place with 9 points. Go, Ceedub.

CW Colts were also due to leave the stable for their inaugural match against Westshore, however this has been cancelled. The Colts are another aspect of growing the game. This initiative is the brainchild of U18 Head Coach, Brandon Gerhardt. The group consists of U20 - U23 players. At the moment there is no real development level for this age grade and players are forced to try and work their way into Division 1, or simply not play. This is further amplified by the VIRU no longer offering a Div.3 option. CW is able to include a number of this sesaon's BC U18 Champs in this experience. 'onya, B!
Brandon has informed the writer that the lads will travel to Vancouver on March 1st, along with the club's Premier team, with the Prems going to Jericho and the Colts off to Connaught to play two halves against Lomas and United, two mainland clubs who have a similar group. Indeed, good news.
Our final item for "Late Breaking", is news that the Rugby Canada High Performance Director, Stephen Aboud is rejoining Rugby Italy. Just how is it that Canada cannot retain any of its appointments for any duration? One wonders if this entails a contract buyout as well. Happy Valentines.
