U16-U18 Girls

Girls U19

CW Girls Rugby is a well established program started in 2011/2012 with only twelve girls.   The program now supports the girls only development format for girls ranging from the U10 to U18 age grades with over 60 girls now participating.   CW has been leader in girls rugby development in the Victoria area and has been very active in developing dedicated girls programs at the club and high school level.

The U16-U18 girls program competes in the Provincial U16-U18 league with island and mainland clubs.  The club competition is divided into two halves with the first half (September-October) focused on the 7's format culminating in a provincial wide tournament in Kamloops for age grades from U14 through to U18.   The second half (Nov-Dec) is focused on 15's competition that culminates in a final tournament in early December.    Team composition is often determined by club numbers and teams are often merged to make-up for clubs with lesser players.

Over the last few years, CW girls youth athletes have represented their region, province and country (U20) in provincial, national and international competitions.   Our program has grown significantly since its inception elevn years ago and continues to be a fun and inclusive environment for girls to learn the game of rugby.

It is a program growing along with female participation in rugby worldwide, and is focused on providing a safe and fun environment for girls to learn the game. Coaches for the 2023/2024 season for U18 will be Ed Knaggs and Chris Mays.  Both coaches are experienced and well versed with the girl's game.  In addition, our program is supported with guest coaches including a number of the National Senior Women's 7s team which is based in Victoria.
