A Matter of Conjecture

A Matter of Conjecture

Well, had all been according to Hoyle, perhaps today we would be rejoicing in men’s first round playoff victories over Capilanos and Meralomas!  Yesterday would have been the first of the playoff matches and admittedly, for that to have occurred in Premier play, end of league victories over Meralomas on the road, Seattle at home and a bonus point loss to UBCOB at home would have needed to take place.  The boys were on a roll when action came to a sudden halt with Covid.  Based on the table to that point, a third or fourth place finish was in the cards.  The Reserves had also fashioned their way into an advantageous spot and could well have faced long-time adversary, Lomas, at home yesterday as well.  As opined – a matter of conjecture!

Regardless, we include the standings of all four senior teams and it is with an edge of celebration that we congratulate both men’s teams ending up atop the heap of Island teams in the tables.  Well done!  All of this pales in the face of global loss of life due to this horrendous virus.  Along with these rugby achievements, we thank all front-liners elsewhere in our daily lives, keeping loss of life due to Covid, down to three to date on Vancouver Island. So, despite the fact we may be tempted otherwise, stay the course.  Enjoy the Sabbath.
