Roger Robinson

Roger is an old school player and comes from an earlier era of rugby that was much different then what is played today. When he learned the game players were told that all they needed to do was run hard. Very little emphasis was put on passing, kicking or understanding the game. As a result, these are skills that Roger has never been able to master. With no calf muscles to speak of Roger is forced to used his ample boiler to bash holes in the opposition defence and when that does not work he relies on his wrecking ball of an ass.

Despite his limitations, Roger has had a tremendously successful rugby career, he has won three BC provincial championships and three Super League Championships; he has represented both BC and Ontario in Provincial Championships, played for the Canadian Classics and lastly he has been capped for Canada. An impressive résumé by any standards. Like any larger then life personna Roger has many catch phrases. A few favourites are “I know you. What's your name?”, “ I’m not fat, I just have enlarged organs”, and “I will gladly pay you Thursday for a rum and coke today.” Roger’s off field highlights include: founding member of the Ebony Knights, being related to many NBA stars, and almost memorizing all of the lyrics to several songs.

It is easy to see why the CW Rugby Club is thrilled to be associated with Roger and as he is only 28 there are many more great years to come.
