Scott Franklin

Scott was a gifted hockey and football player while growing up on the prairies. The offers he received to continue these sports speak volumes about his tremendous athletic ability. The fact that he gave up these somewhat lucrative sports to pursue a career in the cash strapped world of Canadian rugby speaks volumes about his intelligence,

Scott’s teammates refer to him as the bus, or else the Bust, it is hard to determine which as they are both fitting. If one is to think of him as a Bus it would definitely not be a bus made for long hauls but rather short trips that frequently cross the goal line.

In fact, Franks has led the Premier League the last two seasons in tries scored per minute played, unfortunately he usually only plays 30-40 minutes a game. Scott’s game is not all about offense, however, lately he has dedicated himself to 5 minutes a game for defense. It is not always actual defense, sometimes it is just 5 minutes of talk but at least this is a start.

Scotty has recently taken up golf and has hired the diminutive David Jawl as his coach. Will this partnership be successful, probably not, which is just as well because the more Scott focuses on rugby the better the team will be.
