Adam Dowhy

Adam is one of a long line of CW props who posses tremendous talent and very little work ethic. Drop goals, spin passes and chip kicks are no sweat but ask him to run for more then 20 minutes and you have a problem. The Chief played his junior rugby for CW and it was Larry Chung who taught him his skills and Tom Stobart who taught him how to train.

Adam is a bit of a legend in Sooke as he is one of the very few who grew up there and got an education. The fact that he can also play rugby at such a high level has further awed his village peers so that he has become know as the “Duke of Sooke”. Although he is not actually Sooke royalty, he has been given special status and as such he is able to mentor the four or five kids who are still in school. The Duke can play any of the front row positions including hooker which he has done on a couple of occasions this past year. Adam’s rugby highlights include playing for the Pacific Pride, and the Crimson Tide. His club high lights include wearing a dress and beating a drum in time with music, and helping Chad Plater adjust to city life. We wish Adam well in his fight with gravity and hope that he does not lose another year stuck on his couch.
