Phil Alcock

Phil is one of the many rugby players who have made a home for themselves in Victoria after the massive Newfie migration of 2001. They all came with a dream of playing great rugby and the comfort of knowing that if Andrew Mooney could make it, any one could. Phil is an imposing second row whose game is definitely on the rise. Evidence of this can be found in the fact that Phil was voted the most improved player on the Premier side last season.

With the departure of long serving second row Ed Knaggs, Phil will be counted on to improve even more this season. If the first three games of this season are any indication he is doing just that. Phil is most proud of his last name, despite the fact that it's a bit of a misnomer. When not playing rugby, Phil can be found strolling through Beacon Hill Park with fellow newf and roommate Kenny. They feel that there is safety in numbers and with two heads it will be easier to remember how to find their way back.
