Junior Men

CW Juniors, often referred to as Age Grade, field teams in the Fall in U13, U15, U17 and U19 Divisions, a change in ages from previous seasons.  U17 and U19 compete for Provincial titles.  CW has been Runner Up at the Provincial level, three times in recent years and also with U18’s on two occasions, as well as winning this title in 2008, 2015 and last season.  The U16 program has featured in Island Finals for the past seven years, winning the title on a couple of occasions. CW last won the B.C. U16 Championship in the 2016-17 season. The success of the program in the recent past can be attributed to players “coming through the ranks” from Mini Rugby to age grade, coupled with qualified coaches providing an emphasis on fitness and strength; sequential individual and team skill development; development of player confidence and team cohesiveness.  Many players have attained representative honors with Team B.C. at Nationals, International Sevens events, B.C. Games and Regional Championships, far too many to mention.  A number of these lads have gone on to represent University teams and we currently have ten players playing Premier rugby with CW or another club, who have “graduated” from CW Juniors.  Six players have recently come from our programs to represent Canada at either the U17, U18 or U20 levels.  There is no player that would regret joining our Junior Programs which are also strongly supported by parents, based on the mantra of; "Building self-esteem and confidence through rugby."
