Amy Hawkings

Assistant Coach - Women's Senior program

Amy Hawkings grew up in small-town Central Alberta and started playing rugby in high school. She went on to play for multiple clubs in Alberta and the University of Calgary Dinos varsity rugby program. She moved to Victoria three years ago and immediately joined the Castaway Wanderer's women’s program. Amy is a Level 1 certified coach who has experience coaching rugby at various Alberta high schools and Claremont Secondary on the island. She is excited to transition from a tight-five player to an assistant coaching role. Her favourite part of the game is set-piece, and her technical knowledge in that area will be a strength for her as a coach.

Amy has been working as a strength and conditioning coach since she finished her kinesiology degree at the U of C. Getting involved with so many teams and different sports has helped to develop her as a coach. She loves to build strong relationships with each athlete and is motivated to help each individual meet their performance goals. Her fitness background and rugby experience will contribute to the growth and successes of the CW women’s premier program and division one side.
