Triple Header at Windsor

CW Women kick off the Island semi-final at 11:30 a.m.tomorrow at Windsor against Cowichan, a side they have beaten earlier in the season but the word is that the Cowichan side has bolstered its lineup and a close contest can be expected.  The faithful have only been exposed to one home game from the ladies, so tomorrow is an opportunity to get along and raise the roof for the women.

Next in line and the curtain-raiser for the main game, will be the Ones and they will be up against a strong Norsemen side.  The Norse will have their backs up after dropping one to the Hornets up-Island last week.  Based on the CW performance against the Black Sheep, one could say they are still finding their way.  It would be nice if it is not one way traffic, as The Ones seek to develop their style of play.  There is talent there but it needs cohesion.

The main contest will see the current top two on the Island battle it out again.  Last time round the Vikes nipped the Tricolor and posted five tries in the process.  UVic is heavily spiced with former CW juniors.  Two of the FRF – Keelan Chapman and Macbryan Bos are CW types, Jeff Nishima on the flank, Joey Erlic and Fergus Hall round out the group, although, Morgan Tate often appears from the pines as well.  Last time round, CW benefited from Horton, Fuli and McCloskey, all missing tomorrow.  The Tricolour pack looks useful, led by the returning Riley Ilnicki, with Bro Jake on the bench.  The backs may have a long afternoon chasing the student thoroughbreds and Raymondo Duderino Barkwill is strangely listed as starting in the centers, so we’ll see what that’s all about, although this pundit would put him ANYWHERE in my team, as he is just a giddy-up style of player who loves to get it on.  By 4:30 tomorrow we will see how this hatrick of matches has panned out.  Go, Ceedub.
