CW U18's @ Caps Inaugural Sevens

The U18's travelled over to North Vancouver to be a part of the inaugural North Shore 7s, hosted expertly by the Capilano Rugby Club. CW travelled with twenty-five athletes, with two teams competing in the 7s competition and one team in the innovative "5s", which was a competition exclusively for tight-five players. As in most things rugby, any success is built off your tight-five and the CW "Big Boys" did the damage all weekend long. They went undefeated despite facing some teams with players whose tight-five credentials were somewhat suspect. No bother to The Tricolors!

In the full 7s tournament CW Blue and CW Red both walked away with silverware, winning the Plate and Bowl competitions respectively. A great result from two evenly paired groups. The boys were happy to welcome the new additions to the CW family: Josh Mitchell, Anton Ngongo, Nik Bereznoj, John Cook and Liam Saad-Roy.

Coaches Kevin Hall and Spencer Robinson were equally impressed with the skill and character shown by the boys during competition. "This was a great beginning for us. We made the first steps towards building a cohesive unit. "Individual sacrifice for the collective good" is the ethos we are trying to live up to with this group and there were definite signs of that this weekend."  The U18's thank the club for its support in making this happen.
