Bits & Pieces

Community Volunteers

Recognition and a tip of The Ruggernut’s cap to CW U16 boys who lent some elbow grease to last weekend’s Victoria Marathon.  The lads received kudos from the organizing committee and the club adds its “two bits”.  ‘onyas, guys, that’s the Ceedub style!

NSMT News – N.S.W. Central Coast Sevens  RC has announced their NSMT’s Maple Leafs for this tournament.  CW congratulates Luke McClosky and Mike Scholz on their selection to the team.  It is a team that features both experience and youth with both Bradley (UVic) and Berna (UBC), retaining positions from the Limerick Sevens, Trent Cooper (Ontario) and McCloskey being added as first time selections.  The team will be led by Sean Duke, a top scorer and experienced member of the core group.  White, Douglas, Hammond, Zaruba and Cejvanovic all add experience.  So, best of luck boys as yet another round of Sevens commences with a potential spot at Rio up for grabs.

p.s. Whilst talking NSMT players – a doff of the cap to Ciaran Hearn who rumour has it, signed a contract with London Irish where he will join CW and NSMT's team mate, Jebb Sinclair who added an Exiles try in a losing weekend cause to Leicester.  Ciaran definitely earned this reward from his form with the Canadian campaign at the RWC – ‘onya, Ciaran, good luck in the pros.
